2021 Football Season

3rd graders have the option to play flag or tackle.  If a child decides to play tackle at the 3rd/4th grade level this season, he will repeat playing with the 3rd/4th grade next season

COST:

Tackle  $299
Early bird discount $250 until 5/31/21
15% Sibling discount for all siblings
 
PRACTICE:
First day of practice will be Monday 8/16 we will practice in August at Cornine Field as follows:
 

Preseason schedule:

Weeks of 8/16, 8/23, 8/30  Monday through Thursday 6:00pm-8:00pm

Rest of season: 9/6 through 10/31 we will practice every Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 6:00pm-8:00pm.  Teams may have weekend walk-throughs as coach determines.
 
SCRIMMAGES: TBD
 
GAMES:
Regular Season: 8 week season Saturday September 11th through Sunday October 31st.
 
Games will either be Saturday afternoon/night or Sunday morning/afternoon

4th grade (e level) 2:00-3:25pm
5th grade (d level) 3:30-4:55pm
6th grade (c level) 5:00-6:25pm
7th grade (b level) 6:30-7:55pm
8th grade (a level) 8:00-9:30pm

Sunday:  
5th grade (d level) 9:00-10:25am
6th grade (c level) 10:30-11:55am
7th grade(b level) 12:00-1:25pm
8th grade (a level) 1:30-3:25pm
4th grade(e level) 3:30-5:00pm

 
PLAYOFF SCHEDULE:
Semifinals - Sunday November 7th 
Super Bowl - Sunday November 14th

 
There are playoffs for the A,B,C and D levels.  Teams must qualify for the playoffs. 

The playoffs are single elimination.  Locations and times TBD.

HOME GAME VOLUNTEERS:
Field prep, 3 people to hold sideline chains, 50/50 raffle, announcer, spotter for the announcer, field tear down/clean up.

**Parents MUST bring a copy of the following to the equipment hand out :

1. Birth certificate

2. Most current report card 

3. If you just moved to the school district and did not attend the Morris School District this year, you MUST bring a letter from the district that your child will be attending school in Morristown/Morris Plains for the 2020-2021 school year.

You MUST be registered and paid in full in order to receive equipment.

Equipment to wear:
Preseason Week 1 (players must always wear athletic cup)
8/16 and 8/17 - helmet, practice jersey, shorts, cleats, mouth piece.
8/18 and 8/19 - helmet, shoulder pads, practice jersey, shorts, cleats and mouth piece.

Preseason Week 2 through end of season
Full pads unless coach says otherwise      
      Required purchase(s) by parents-
      1. Girdle (with 5 piece pads- tail, hip and thigh pads)
      2. WHITE practice pants (must be white)
      3. Cleats (must be molded cleats, NO SCREW ON CLEATS)
      4. Mouth piece 

Water Bottle:
Please bring a water bottle with your name on it to EVERY practice. Drink plenty of water throughout the day.


Weather/Cancellations:Football is played in the rain provided there is no thunder and lightning. However, an email will be sent by 6:00 pm if practice is canceled. Therefore, check your email before you leave for practice.

** Reminder- NJSYFL rules:  Player must have 20 practice hours before they can participate in their first game.  Please plan your family vacations accordingly.  Please arrive to practice 30 minutes early so we can do our COVID screening and get started immediately at 6:30 pm.    Please utilize the Streeter Pool parking lot for dropoff.
